What's the plan?

Walter Trice gives us three generic plans in "Bootcamp", race, containment and trying to hit a checker. This is my favorite book after Nack and Paul's "Backgammon Openings". I don't know whether or not anyone articulated the three plan system before Walter.
Blue's plan is to race and white's plan is containment. Blue can advance his plan and foil his opponent's plan by hitting now. This has the cost of handing white the third plan, hitting another checker. I would hit on the fifteen point anyway. When blue is hit in return, the white checker is now behind a broken five prime and blue has the only checker contesting the outfield. If blue can survive the counterattack, he should have an advantage. Loose hits after being missed in the inner board are not to be feared.
