While effectively behind in the race after this lousy roll, and having a stronger board, if we hit, the loss from being hit back is nowhere near the gain from being missed. Meanwhile, white is behind a 4-prime with limited safe landing spots in the outfield, and the race is close so permitting white to leap out does not risk too much. Seems prudent to wait.
