I would not play 6/1(2) because that does not win enough gammons, and the gammon race is close. I guess the weird looking 8/3(2) 7/3(2) is correct, because it leaves more good numbers next turn than 8/3 7/3(3): 22 and 33 make the ace, and you can remake the bar with 21 and 31. In general, it looks just a bit more flexible. 66 becomes a blot number, and that is the main drawback.
