There is an important factor you did not consider. Let's look at just the race. A 72 - 88 pipcount would normally give about 13% win chace. But since white is on the bar this is not a normal race. White's side has much more volatility than usual. That greater volatility is an advantage to the trailer of a race.

"And how would you think yourself through this type of position?"

I have a few reference positions from Kit's encyclopedia and my first try would be to try to compare to one of those. WIthout those though I would consider a hyperpip approach.
