Many trades on the stock exchange are auto trades.

It is possible to trigger some kind of domino effect.

When the market hits a certain level it will initiate some auto trades which will cause the market to drop a little further. This will again initiate some more auto trades, etc.

Not sure how large a proportion of the trades are auto generated, but supposedly it is a significant amount.

Too many bots on the stock exchange. :-)
