Leaving one additional hit is worth the big gains on opponent's 12 and 63 (as compared to 64 which races well after scooting up) and similarly 53 (as compared to 54). Also there are small gains elsewhere. For example an extra shot after 61 or 62 and you will be one pip better off if get 55 from the bar.
