That reminds me of a position Tim posted some months ago. I can't easily find that post, but his position was something like the one shown below (I'm showing White on the far side to play because I think that's the way he diagrammed it.)

Obviously, there are differences (and the best move is less of a standout in Barabino/Bagai), but thematically the idea is the same.
