Going to 15 gives 13 shots instead of 14 when staying on the 16.

This should be 14 and 15 shots, respectively. You probably missed 11.

I don't think this one extra returnshot is enough to sway any decision...

Staying back also benefits on some of White's missing rolls (63 53), forcing him to leave a shot or waste pips inside.
