Elderly players and time clocks

I don't buy this answer. Intentionally cocking your dice to gain an advantage is no more acceptable than intentionally making a misplay to gain an advantage. The rules are written to handle various accidental scenarios (like playing to the wrong score), under the assumption that you won't try to create those scenarios intentionally.
If one of the dice goes flying off the board and it takes 5 minutes to locate, do 5 minutes come off your clock? I actually don't know the answer to this, but I would be surprised if a director would require me to keep my clock running. (And if they would, does that mean anyone who helps me find the die is interfering with the match?)
But it would be wrong to send one of dice flying off the table intentionally in order to gain an advantage. This seems like common sense to me. If anyone disagrees then we have different ideas of sportsmanship.
