I fail to see how increasing only the delay time for the remainder of the match hurts the opponent. Unless the opponent (who did nothing wrong) was intentionally doing things differently to maximize the chances that an obviously motor impaired player would time out, and that plan has now been somewhat hindered. Sorry if I don't feel bad about the opponent's minor inconvenience. It still seems to me that the opponent is far better off in terms of their time advantage than they would have been if the player thought to ask for the variance at the beginning of the match or at the beginning of the event. Where's the real harm here?
