Mary battled back from 8 or 9 points behind in a 17-point match, she was cool under fire, and she was fearless when confronted with some difficult cubes. With CJC winning last year and Mary winning this year, Chiva jokingly announced that he's renaming the tournament the "U.S. Women's Open." We often overlook second place, and we shouldn't. Dorn played extremely well and could have won if a couple of rolls had been different. Mary and Dorn excelled in a field that included 7 or 8 (I believe) current Giants and several near Giants.
