My instinct is to play 21/15 21/16. It's somewhat counter intuitive to give up the anchor when behind in the race, but those checkers may be more valuable in the outfield. Since Black has no midpoint, White isn't "holding" very much from the 21pt. The real point White wants to "hold" is Black's bar point anchor. That's where this game will most often be decided, so making another outfield point puts the pressure where White really needs it. It's sort of like Neil's concept of playing 15 vs 1, only in this case it's 15 vs 2. Of course White isn't guaranteed to make a new outfield point, so there's some risk involved. But if Black rolls his clearing doubles -- say 44 or 55 -- White isn't much better off had he stayed back on the 21pt. I won't be surprised if the usual "stay back to maintain maximum contact" wins the day, but being proactive in trying to ramp up the pressure makes a little more sense to me.
