Thanks for your input...however, I'm not sure I follow your reasoning. If "clearing the 9 point" is what I'm trying to do in the first position, then why play 9/7*(2) instead of 9/8 9/7*/6? Also, when you say that "Blue's timing is worse," does that mean you would predict that if I give Blue more timing by moving his outfield spares backwards, then it will become more desirable for White to hit?
