Those not even considering the rigth play here should not be giants. It's one thing to chose the wrong play but to not even consider the best play when it is as obvious as here is not good. QF when presented with the problem should even help you find the right play if you don't understand this position intuitively.
At DMP you want to play pure. When priming you want to play pure. Here pure play means filling that gap in the prime.
It's bad to run off the anchor as it leaves the opponent too many good rolls. Hence, the 6 must go in the hole. After that only 1 sensible 2.
