Experience with electronic voting-machine mishaps makes me a little wary of the scenario you posit. In my opinion there needs to be a non-electronic means of verification in the event of a fraud investigation. For example, in the case of voting, the voter should mark a paper ballot and then the machine can count the votes automatically. The voter should not just punch a computer screen because then there's no way for the voter to be sure that their vote was registered properly, and there's no way an auditor can verify the vote later on if there is an accusation of electronic fraud.

In my vision of the future we play on luxurious physical sets but robots will watch and record the matches and act as referees while intruding on our experience as little as possible. Why should we change our habits to accommodate the computers? Make the machines smarter to accommodate us.
