Is 6 shots vs an undeveloped board too many?

I wouldn't have thought so, but I've been surprised by this sort of thing before. My OTB play is certainly 14/11 13/8. The QF play of 14/6 does have merits, though. It's not that inflexible. Still, I'm sticking with 14/11 13/8.
