I disagree. Suppose you have a technical double but you're certain your opponent will take next turn no matter what happens (even if it's a theoretical pass). Then there's no reason to turn the cube. If things go well, then you can turn the cube next time. If things go poorly, then you will be glad you didn't double.

My "sacrifice of equity" is justified by the fact that I know my opponent will take (possibly incorrectly) next turn.
