When would these terms be useful? There's too many differences to clump these scores into one bundle. I think we should just use the score in question.

I agree that any checker play problem should be posed with the exact -x-y score.

However, the bundle concept is still useful. I tell my students that as soon as they reach Crawford or the game after they should mentally shout to themselves at the outset of the game whether the situation is DMP(-ish) or gammon go/save or gammon gain/savvy. If the latter, those interested enough can ponder/learn gammon price refinements.
