If you lose this game you'll be trailing -8, -1. That's as good as dead.

Hence there is very little risk in recubing here. 13 shots at sending a checker behind your prime is enough to recube, IMO.

Since the leader is clearly a favourite to win the game dropping is not an option, noting that the leader won't lose a ton of Gs here.
