The natural move here is making the 5-point. An alternative is making the 2-point, since that efficiently uses the dilly builder on the 3 point, and in a blitz it is not always that important to make high points first—in fact, sometimes it's good to make low points first because it's easier for your checkers to make the remaining points. Also making the 5 point leaves one fewer blot, though the same number of shots (13). I still like the 5 point but I'm not sure and I agree that it's a difficult decision. The choice may hinge on some subtle tactical issue that can only be detected by looking carefully at how all Black's rolls play.
