Yellow is in danger of getting primed or possibly attacked. Thus the golden anchor is very attractive. The alternative is to make the 4 point. Offense typically should take priority over defense, but here, making the 4 point is a relatively small improvement in Yellow's offense compared to the huge improvement in Yellow's defense provided by the golden anchor.

Below is a third-roll decision where Blue has a choice between making the golden anchor and making the 4 point. Despite the fact that Blue has two tall stacks that he wants to unload, and that White has no offense for Blue to worry about, I believe that making the golden anchor is correct here. Even if I'm wrong I'm sure it's at least very close. This should underline the general superiority of the golden anchor over the 4 point.
