Some ideas:

- A wine opener, just so that she does not need to go to the creep down the hall.

- Book with cooking recipes - actually useful for anyone going to university and start living on his/her own, probably the thing that was most useful for me. Especially if it is full of stuff that can be put together quickly. If she is already a good cook, not needed of course.

- A wok, idem dito. Also a good weapon BTW in case the creep down the hall comes to her for sugar or the wine opener!

- Barf bags - for if some of the recipes were misunderstood, and for when she realizes that she is in Miami University while she could have been to Ohio University

- A subscription to BGO - so that she can learn some useful skills while in uni.
