Not at all, just (1) as you know from your growing collection of memorable reference positions, once you have a reference readily in mind, you don't go through all the steps -- 'if this were DMP, but it's not, etc etc' because you simpply (think you) know that a play is right and (2) wrt 'seem to think 11/8 6/5 is clearly the right play' there's that ambiguity of what "clear" means ... what Stick said in a follow-up -- just because a play strikes you as "clear" doesn't mean the equity difference is not close ... or even that you are correct ;-
