Again, no, you said nothing wrong. I'm sorry if I was too obtuse or abrubt. I'm not "taking you to task" for explaining your reasoning. I welcome that. But when you say "Petter specifically asked for reasons" well, my "reason" is that I studied bearoffs intensively a long time ago, so when I see this problem that Petter posted today with three on the bar vs a 5-point board and at a score that I don't think matters, I play 11/8 6/5, end of story. I mean my "reason" for making this play now is because I already (think I) know that in the family of positions that this one belongs to that spares on 8 5 and 4 are better than 7 6 and 4. I said as much in my first response, and I think it's a legitimate explanation.
