Probability Puzzle for Mathematicians

I know the three door version as the three card version (3 card monte). They're all a variant of the same thing, I don't know which came first, and I've always been flabbergasted that bona fide mathematicians could get this wrong in print. I understand how someone could arrive at the wrong answer but to go one step further and write articles etc... about it when you have a deck of cards (or coins) in front of you, unreal. Do the damn rollout!
