Or maybe it was longer.

Looks like a close pass to me. Did you?

If the sequence was that and it is a pass, it looks like Steve would have lost his market after 44-xx (almost any reply by you) and 11-55 (what happened) -- i.e., about 2.7% of the time. In that sense, he was unlucky (unless you took).
