Tomorrow's bot (sticky)

Currently it is possible for a human to play specifically anti-bot strategies to gain an advantage, particularly in money games. It would be a major step forward if humans could no longer consistently beat bots by any means. This is unlikely to happen just by incremental improvements along known lines. If we want a truly unbeatable bot, then I suspect that it will be necessary to develop hybrid algorithms that use neural nets in most circumstances but that use some other technique in positions that currently confuse the bots.
