In Response To: Nagitation (Nack Ballard)

I quit for 5 years because I was stuck at the intermediate level which is around 1750 on FIBS. Last year my girlfriend (now wife) bought me a giant green book on openings and within three months I passed 2000 on FIBS. 16 of my last 20 matches I've played below 5.0 ER, a couple near 2.0 ER. I don't know why I've played so well (for me) lately.

I'm just a tad brighter than average. So I struggle (over and over) with OTB math, understanding the cube, and the subtleties of the first three moves. When I read Nack's discussion of 65S/R, I was and am amazed. That 10 point blot is going to stick in my mind for a while. I don't know why or how, but all those posts are making me a dramatically better player. Struggling to nactate is somehow making me a better player.

Nactation might not attract the casual player, but it attracts those of us with a desire to win and be the best at something. When I think about how generous everyone here is, I have to give a big THANKS!

21$-11|21$-55|21$-33|41$-44, please keep nactating!
