Interesting position. I played some moves out a few times. I tried the double hit and won four games with three gammons, but the positions were always isolated towers; I felt lucky to win. I think White should be glad to have two more checkers sent back and sit on the position a while. 24/15 didn't seem to do much for Blue or much against White. And the same for plays that hit once. 24/21 16/10 led often to White's vacating the 9, the 5 and even the 3 point prematurely. That's the play I'd make next time this position comes up ;-

I think I'd prefer a Gnubg rollout with 3-ply checker play to 2-ply. How much I would trust either would depend on its result and how sure I am of my own play. How's that for a waffle ;-
