When the Williams sisters were teens they played a casual exhibition against an obscure guy named Karsten Braasch, who was ranked #203 on the men's tour. He beat Serena 6-1 and Venus 6-2, although Venus did break his serve once.

Without being much of a tennis expert I would think a grass surface would accentuate a man's natural advantage. And as Neil said, a big server is going to pose extra difficulties.

I enjoy watching women's tennis and I don't see it as an inferior product in any way, but head to head comparisons are pretty pointless IMO. It's like talking about what would happen if the Green Bay Packers played Ohio State.
