Terrific explanation, Stein!

I agree that your 5.5 move (i.e., 11 roll) solution with the dance/fan seems a notch above other 5.5 move solutions. A modification to the puzzle's wording, such as a fan counting as a non-roll or half-roll, could take care of that.

However, a 5-move (i.e., 10-roll) solution exists.

I believe there is only one possible set of rolls (not counting transpositions) to achieve it.
