I think you should play 13/11(2) 8/4. Than only leaves 11 clean escape numbers, and 16 numbers freeze the back checker completely. If your opponent does not escape, the follow through looks good. If your opponent escapes, you still have some chances in the race. Among the blocking moves, this should be the best choice because leave the least clean escapes.

If 13/5*, the 15 hits leave you dead, and on the other entries you have made some gains, but not decisive.
