not sure how this problem is easier than it would be if it were initial cube action considering the gammon price is close to money instead of being elevated....

Upon further reflection this specific problem would actually be easier if it was a center cube, I was quoting generalities without thinking in my previous post. While it's true the gammon value of a 2 cube at -3 -3 is for all intensive purposes money and that any later recubes are the raw money take point, what you would have here on a centered cube would be a clear cut decision whereas on a 2 cube, due to the declined value of gammons, is probably a lot closer to a cash. (gv on a centered cube at -3 -3 is ~.75)
