Step up or stay back?

B/24 8/4. One of the reasons to stay back is that you want to attack the blot on the 2, another reason is that you want to play your next roll and attack white's back checker, whereas after B/20 you are likely to be attacked, after which you have one chance to retaliate, but a dance would mean game lost; and another reason is that after B/20 small numbers will play a lot better for white than after staying back.

If you stay back, 8/4 is better than anything else, to create more pointing numbers.
