Considering everything you have posted, I wonder if there is corruption in the rollout where the slotting plays look best.
Yes, that's possible. From my notes, it appears that Stick assigned that file out (as opposed to having rolled it himself). However, (a) it was done with version 0.90-mingw. And (b) the absolute equity clusters are not terribly far apart: -.1603, -.1691, -.1734, -.1822 and -.1830 in one file, and -.1724, -.1626, -.1627, -.1948, and -.1682 in the other. Both (a) and (b) reduce the chance that the file is corrupted. That said, I agree that the result looks pretty fishy.
In case you have any interest in rerolling it, the details (seed 857688062, number of trials for each play, etc.) are in the file output I posted.
