MC vs. ABT?

My sense is that a strong ABT event has stronger participants, on average, than MC has in the open flight. That's because MC features a boatload of wealthy fish. The top ten or so players at MC are better than at most ABT events, though--they represent a sample of the cream of the world's crop.

I only played intermediate at MC from 2005 to 2008. My sense in those intermediate events was that they were WAY STRONGER than ABT advanced events. Those MC tourneys were filled with really strong sharks and (maybe) cheaters. The money was out of whack for the level. Same was true of the beginners event. But attendance is way down in the lower levels now--maybe the sharks have been shooed away?
