Chiva,

Although it was clearly not your intention, the way you wrote that message made it seem you were naming Nihat. You corrected the misimpression, so no big deal. But part of the problem is that you were also being coy (using adambulldog's term) by only giving partial information (about a different player).

I don't mean to pick on you. You do great work for backgammon and you are a great guy. And we all slip up from time to time.

But others have done the same thing in the past, giving partial information thinking that they are somehow helping the backgammon community at large. Rumors don't help anyone. If you (i.e., anyone) want to share some information about a player, please tell us what you know and how you know it so we can check for ourselves.

Anyway, thanks again for all the positive work you do for backgammon,
