In Response To: Monte Carlo Last 8 (Bob Koca)

Allowing bots to decide who played better, and on that basis take on a role in deciding who wins a title, assures us that if any human has the effrontery to learn to play better than a bot, or even occasionally to do so, they will pay off to this audacity. The more they outplay the bot, the bigger the hit they will take in the "variance reduction" term or coefficient of whatever formula ends up being used.

This proposal is actually part of a stealth plot by the bots to take over backgammon, and later the rest of the world. I don't know if Bob has gone over to the Dark Side and is now in league with them, but we can still hope that he is only an unwitting dupe of these monstrous silicon-based life forms.
