I AGREE. IF SAME PLAYERS USUALLY IS WINNER/CASH : falafel, mochy, stick, mcg etc THERE WOULD BE NO INTEREST IN BG FOR ALL PLAYERS, skillfull or less-skillfull.

I strongly disagree. Was there no interest in chess when Kasparov or Fisher were dominating? Was Formular 1 boring when Michael Schumacher dominated it? What about 100m sprint? You don't want to see Usain Bolt? O.k. Tour-de-France was boring when Lance Amstrong won it several times in a row.

If you have a tournament format that reduces luck you have a better chance that you can promote the BG stars. I understand the problems with the swiss format (without clocks) but I think you can overcome them, but most people seems to prefer having won (at least won) the 17th consolation than being 7th in the tourney.
