Professional backgammon players

Switch sides and think about it.
Why would any company or institution sponsor such a thing?
If you were responsible for a considerable marketing budget, would you do the maths and put your money in something that reaches and attracts your brand or product or service to a huge audience with a maximum returnn on investment?
Or would you simply throw your money away at a handful backgammon pros with no clear demographic structure, who would rather stay in the next shithole and eat at the next fast food place to save $10 on equity rather than picking the tournament hotel and enjoying a nice dinner (exceptions do exist)?
The backgammon pro community is to small and mostly too stingy and uninterested in anything else than backgammon and money to invest considerable budgets. Thatīs the reality, thatīs the truth and thatīs the facts. We have to face it.
A healthy company would rather put ads in newspapers and other medias and invest money in sponsoring big and attractive sport events.
Partygammon lost a LOT of money by putting up the Million in the Bahamas. THey didnīt repeat it and itīs unlikely it will ever be repeated in the near future, unless backgammon grows substantially and the consumer quality of the players sees a dramatic change.
Unless you find a private investor (some Russian oligarch or other millionaire) who is a backgammon lover and doesnīt care about Profit/Loss, good luck with chasing a sponsor !
And I have been doing it for a decade and am probably the most commercial TD nowadays. I know what I am talking about...
