Boards, clocks, dice, other equipment such as score sheets, brackets, staff, travel expenses, advertising, brochures, mailings, website, computers, cameras, phone calls, internet connections, and countless hours of work before, during and after a tournament.
And one more thing cannot be squeezed in? ;)
I'm not saying that you don't have any expenses, of course you do. And they are probably very high. And expenses will remain high with current backgammon (un)popularity.
But, how much more, in percents of current expenses, would cost to organize broadcast?
Would broadcasting magically and suddenly raise backgammon popularity? I don't think so, but even slow popularity grow is better than current slow dying.
