From what I've seen of XG's abilities, I'd say odds are that XG, in general, plays trap play positions very well, as do (I think) Gnubg and Snowie. But as for snake positions generally, I'd be interested to see, eventually, more evidence that XG plays them at least as well (that is, no worse than) its bot brethren. Also, thinking over all I can recall having seen of work done testing bots in snake positions, it seems that all or nearly all of that work was in positions versus one checker back, and almost never versus two. Versus one checker, my impression is that the three bots handle primes on the 1-6, 2-7, 3-8 and 4-9 points expertly, handle 5-10 primes (as in Paul's position) very well but with slightly but noticeably more misplay, and begin a sharp decline in ability once the prime is moved out to the 6-11 points and beyond.
