Oops, I must not have my math hat on today. You're right Sam, 8/7*/5 gives 7/36 hits not 9/36, and 11/9 8/7* gives 10/36 not 9/36.

So 11/9 8/7* gives either 10/36, 3/36 or 1/36 more return hits than the other 3 plays I looked at, but mega much better chances to continue priming/attacking. Does your counting change my choice? Nah ... 11/10*/8 (no shots) still looks awfully anemic, 8/7*/5 must be worse as it gains no priming improvement for giving 7/36 shots (and I'm not giving much weight to the chance at hitting a second checker next turn), while 11/10* 8/6 seems to regain quite a bit of the priming potential for only 2/36 shots more -- enough to make 11/10* 8/6 better than 11/10*/8? Not sure, but I'd rank 11/10* 8/6 second best, and so, since 11/9 8/7 gains hugely by adding a fifth builder for good board points and starting the bar, in exchange for only 1/36 shots more than my second-place play, I'll stick with 11/9 8/7* for the win.
