Yes, Larry often beats highly regarded opponents in the open division. My point, however, is that if Larry can no longer compete effectively in the open division because of his age and/or mobility issues, he should play in the intermediate division. The next question is, Should he be allowed to play as an intermediate? Even though he is skilled at the game, if clocks thwart him from playing well at the open level, in my opinion he should be allowed to play as an intermediate. Any input on this from directors?
