LJ: What is technical definition of Precision dice?
CMC: dice that produce the same number of 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 6s in the long run. Truly random numbers should be the outcome.
That doesn't sound right to me.
Usually when people talk about "precision" dice they are referring the the manufacturing process. I don't know if there is an official definition of "precision". Maybe casinos have specifications that dice must meet (e.g., within so many microns of a perfect cube) but I don't know what they are.
Obviously being random and fair is a goal for any set of dice. But I have never heard of a company that tests every set of dice for randomness with a large number of rolls. (If so, how many test rolls do you use? And how close to equally distributed do the results have to be to be considered "precision"?)
