I agree with David; I like 24/21 13/11.

The race is pick 'em. You are down 2 pips before playing and up 3 after. You do not want to make a play here that would have a good chance of setting you back in the race. You also want to try to contain White's lone back checker.

You want to keep both your racing chances and your priming possibilities alive.

24/21 13/11 gives White only a few numbers to attack you (64 42 31 11 22 33 44), but these are far from fatal and they are all great shots for White regardless of your play. 24/13 13/11 also give White some double hitters (21, 32, 41 and possibly 43), but these are double-edged; you are a fave to hit back.

If you are not hit, your numbers next time play well after 24/21 13/11. Aces make the 20pt or 5pt (or both). 21 makes two points. 32 makes the 18pt. 42 makes the 4pt. With 52 and 62, the play depends on your opponent's roll, but you can cover the 11pt or run. 43 runs. 53 makes the 3pt. 63 makes the 5pt. 64 makes the 11pt. 65 makes the 15pt. Your six sets all play well.

24/21 13/11 gives you the most compact position possible. It moves your checkers toward your center of gravity. It simultaneously gives you the best chance to contain White while making progress with your back men.
