Chouette Etiquette

In the Madison Chouettes we adopted a rule that we heard about in Michigan - any comment or likewise leading gesture results in your cube being taken by the player that has just been disadvantaged. The cube remains on 1, but the player who made the noises/spread the coffee/etc no longer has access to it until its turned to 2. Likewise, Jacoby still stands. We find this to be punishment enough, however we dont have a ruling on repeat offenders - maybe the offender should have a mandatory point given to every player in the chouette, and escalating points for each repeat offence.
I expect this would be a quick way to cease the groans and good plays.
Typically if the captain makes a play you dont like, then you want to turn that cube over so that you can express your displeasure at the next opportunity. It leads to some excitement, and a little more action.
