When you spend several hundred dollars on air fare and hotel, and dedicate your entire weekend to playing in a tournament, it amazes me that people get so petty as to bitch about an extra $100 fee...most of which comes right back to you if you win. The same is true for those who complain about a $40 hospitality fee, or not getting a $20 discount on the room.

I don't like getting ripped off any more than the next guy, but these kinds of things need to be put in perspective.

For example, earlier tonight a guy in our chouette was playing heads up for $50 a point, but he's going on and on about how he need to find a roommate in Florida or he will have to stay at a cheaper hotel a few blocks away. (This same idiot won over $5,000 in the last ABT tournament he went to.)

Some people have no perspective about money.

At a recent tournament I saw a guy win over $500 in the chouette but when I asked him to join the USBGF and support the growth of the game he said he didn't think it was a good use of his money. What selfish, short-sighted, closed-minded people we have around us!

Kudos to Chiva for having the guts to buck the norms and offer something a little more exciting and different.
