Thanks to Christian Anthon, the latest release (7/13/2010) of GnuBG can import XGID

Just export using File/export/XGID to clipboard (Shift+Ctrl+C) and in GnuBG just paste it (Ctrl+V) (note that GNuBG will not find the XGID string if you export as text or HTML)
