It is not only about swing number in next roll.

When you made acepoint, you should avoid bearing in to six point and aim for five point. If you have many checkers on 6 and not 5, you might have really bad 5 later. It will be horrible to play 6/1 when you have more than one checker in the ace point.

It is a real shame if you make a mistake in bearin , doesnt matter how much it is. (I must admit I also make mistake sometimes)

As for original position created by Timothy, I would play 6/5 7/3. I hate to bear in to the six point when you have ace point made and empty or semi-empty five point.

Position below is taken from my match (sapporo open final). I happend to find a right play. Sometimes, this kind a play cost you like 0.03
